Xi Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau is once again an active member of the Franklin & Marshall community. Following a challenging period that began with a suspension in April 2020—which was later successfully appealed and the charges reversed—our brothers and alumni worked tirelessly to secure our return. In 2021, despite administrative hurdles and external reviews, our leadership persevered. We are proud to announce that Xi Chapter was officially reinstated in the spring of 2026.

There are currently 6 recognized fraternities (Chi Phi, Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Tau, and Zeta Beta Tau) and 5 recognized sororities (Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, and Kappa Delta) active on campus.

We have already begun our return to 605 College Ave. Brothers initiated in early 2026 occupied the house through the previous summer and fall, and a new group of associate members is currently in residence for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Yes. The College officially recognizes the Greek system and has supported Xi Chapter’s reinstatement. Furthermore, the Interfraternity Council (IFC) voted in favor of our return, signaling a new era of growth for Phi Tau.

Absolutely. The Phi Kappa Tau Executive Offices have been integral to our return, providing guidance and support. National representatives attended our February 2026 initiation and continue to work closely with our newest members.

Our chapter is growing through a strong foundation of dedicated men. The senior class that re-established the chapter includes Ty Tremba, Nick Keenan, Sam Keenan, Matt Wertz, Nico Medlar, and Jake Fant. They are joined by a passionate group of younger brothers and associates: Steve Donahue, Max Pearis, Darius Ajakaiye, Bohdan Biekietov, Carter Lawrence, Sid Syed, Sean Donovan, and Alex Berry.

Yes. While our alumni house corporation, the Xi Association, focused on property management during the suspension, we are now expanding. We are establishing an alumni Board of Governors specifically designed to mentor our undergraduate brothers and ensure the long-term success of the chapter.

Maintaining 605 College Ave during the suspension was a significant challenge, costing approximately $50,000 annually for taxes, insurance, and utilities. While we remain mortgage-free, recent essential repairs—including furnace work and asbestos remediation—have strained our reserves. We are grateful to the alumni whose generosity has kept our doors open.

Contributions are primarily directed toward critical capital improvements at 605 College Ave to ensure the facility meets modern standards. Additionally, funds support operational costs during this transitional reinstatement period as we return to full occupancy.

605 College Ave is owned by the alumni of Xi Chapter and managed by our alumni house corporation, the Xi Association of Phi Kappa Tau.

Beyond providing essential housing, 605 College Ave serves as the heartbeat of our brotherhood. We are expanding our brotherhood dining program and upholding the tradition of autonomy and camaraderie that defines the Greek experience at F&M.

Yes, we welcome our alumni back home. For the safety of our residents, the house remains locked. We ask that you coordinate your visit in advance so we can properly welcome you.
